We Measure Our Success by Yours

At Calrisk Insurance Center, we’re more than a construction insurance agency—we’re part of our clients’ growth stories. The success stories below are real-world examples of how contractors across Southern California have overcome challenges, secured better coverage, and scaled their businesses with Calrisk by their side.

These aren’t just case studies. They’re proof that when you have the right independent insurance agency behind you, real progress happens.

Scaling Heavy Civil Growth – APB General Engineering

Back in 2018, APB General Engineering was stuck. Despite strong capabilities in heavy civil and infrastructure work, they couldn’t break through a six-figure revenue ceiling. Bonding capacity was holding them back, their financials were fragmented, and there was no unified strategy tying together insurance, bookkeeping, and compliance.

That’s where we stepped in.

Working alongside our CPA and EA network, we restructured APB’s financial documentation to meet higher bonding thresholds. We brought them into our core operating model—fully integrating their insurance coverage, back-office bookkeeping, and strategic tax positioning. This gave them the internal infrastructure to compete at a higher level.

Today, APB has scaled past $10 million in annual revenue. They’re actively bidding and building within 8-figure project pipelines, and we continue to manage their full stack: insurance, bonding, finance, and compliance.

Fast forward ten years—they now run a $15M+ operation with multiple crews and an expanding fleet of commercial vehicles. We’ve been their insurance broker through every phase.

From Disadvantaged Status to Public Works Leader – ELECCO

ELECCO had the skills, the team, and the drive—but lacked the infrastructure to win major public-sector contracts. As a commercial electrical contractor, their bonding limits were tight, and their bid documentation wasn’t up to par. Worse, their disadvantaged business status wasn’t being leveraged effectively.

We changed that.

First, we helped them qualify for the SBA’s Surety Bond Guarantee Program, which opened the door to bigger bonding lines. Then we worked through the detailed protocols of filing under disadvantaged status—and rebuilt their bid systems to match the precision needed for public sector advancement.

The results? ELECCO transitioned from chasing small subcontracts to leading mid-tier public works bids. Now fully embedded in our operational stack—including insurance, bookkeeping, and executive assistant services—they’re ready for 7-figure contracts and are operating with full financial and bid-readiness.

Bouncing Back After a Claim – Coverage That Counts

One of our clients, a specialty concrete contractor from Riverside, suffered a major jobsite theft. Their prior policy had exclusions that would have left them covering most of the loss out of pocket.

But with the Tools & Equipment Insurance we had already put in place—and our proactive risk review before policy renewal—they were fully covered. We helped file the claim and stayed involved until funds were issued. No delays. No red tape.

The client not only recovered, they reinvested in new equipment and kept every crew working.
